Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our team in London, Ontario. As a PSW with Health Med Village, you will provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and private homes. You will assist with daily living activities, promote patient comfort, and ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
Key Responsibilities
– Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
– Provide mobility assistance, including transferring and positioning patients.
– Monitor and report changes in patients’ health and behavior to supervising healthcare professionals.
– Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
– Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
– Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
– Follow care plans and work collaboratively with healthcare team members.
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
– Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications
– Completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker (PSW) program.
– Current PSW certification in Ontario.
– Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a PSW.
– Current CPR and First Aid certification.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Strong organizational and time management abilities.
– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
– Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
– Ability to lift and assist patients as needed.
